EPICS Showcase

Please join us at our upcoming EPICS High Showcase, an end-of-the-year event, designed to exhibit team projects and celebrate their success and impact on the communities around them. Industry partners, faculty, and staff evaluate students on their project and how well they present the information. Top teams are given awards and those that win the IoT Challenge can win cash awards of $5,000, $3000, and $2000 per team.

Event Schedule:
4:30 p.m. Check-in and team set up
5:00 p.m. Welcome Ceremony followed by food, fun, and judging
7:30 p.m. Awards Ceremony

Teacher Trainings

Spring Teacher Training

This one-day training is focused on current EPICS High teachers. Teachers share best practices and receive programming on additions to the curriculum and program.

Summer Teacher Training ( June 5-9, 2017)

This five-day training is focused on incoming EPICS High teachers. Teachers receive an in-depth training on the EPICS High Curriculum as well as a chance to meet current EPICS teachers.
* each day runs approximately 9am – 4pm
* held on the ASU’s Tempe Campus


Student Pitch Funding Competition (open October 19, 2016 through December 12, 2016)

This competition is an opportunity for  students  to submit  their best 4 minute pitch on their EPICS project as well as show off their budgeting , organization, and public speaking skills to the EPICS Review Committee.

The EPICS High 2016-2017 Pitch Funding Request will require the following:

  1. Demographics information about your team
  2. URL / Link to your Pitch Video
  3. Upload PDF including the following:
    1. Modified project charter
    2. Project timeline
    3. Project budget
    4. Team roles and responsibilities


October 19 – December 12:  Funding Window Open

EPICS Olympiad – October 4, 2016 (high school) & October 31, 2016 (middle school)

The EPICS Olympiad an excellent way to kick off the year and is intended to be a fun active workshop for both students and teachers. The objectives of this program are to:

  • Engage in a hands-on activity using the EPICS Design Process
  • Show how EPICS High impacts the community and world around them
  • Provide opportunities for collaboration and networking with several different high schools
  • Introduce skills that will help students and teachers tackle some of the challenges ahead.
  • Learn about EPICS High Pitch Funding Process
