A growing need in Tempe has become the need for more affordable homes for low-mid income families. EPICS team Humble Homes answered that need with the solution of creating a community of tiny homes. This community is planned to be located South of Spence on Rita Lane, taking up two-thirds of an acre of city-owned land. There would be 9-11 tiny homes, ranging from 300-600 square feet and $30,000-$50,000 each. Along with the tiny homes would be a community garden, up to 10 parking spaces, and a bike locker. Currently, the team is working on gaining approval from the city of Tempe for this project.
