Engineering Smiles is now in the beginning stages of gaining funding to build and send their surgical dental unit clinic to Nicaragua.

The team’s mission is to assist IMAHelps—a group specialized in organizing medical missions—in developing a mobile dental facility. Specifically, their focus is with the underprivileged population in Central and South America.

This opportunity to create a surgical dental clinic to send to Nicaragua with IMAHelps would not be possible without the help from the PitchFunder Campaign. This is a relatively new program through the ASU Foundation where organizations can apply and, if accepted, gain coaching and support with fundraising. On average, PitchFunder helps organizations raise approximately $4500.

These campaigns usually last about three months between planning and actually raising the money. Ninety-five percent of the funds raised by Engineering Smiles will go towards their project and the remaining five percent will go to a general ASU fund.

If you would like to help Engineering Smiles send their project to Nicaragua, or are interested in fundraising for your own project, visit the PitchFunder website at pitchfunder.asufoundation.org.
