E2 Escape Room (Magnetic Key Maze)

Project description

E2 is an ASU engineering camp for incoming first-year engineering students to jump-start their experience with the Fulton Schools. We are designing an Escape Room that students will participate in at E2 Camp. This will be an hour-long physical escape room where students must solve a variety of puzzles. We are tasked with designing a magnetic key maze as a component of an E2 escape room where E2 students will work out clues related to the field of engineering in order to solve the puzzle. Using magnetic chess pieces, we need to move a key through a maze underneath the board, which will allow the participants to advance in an escape room after the key drops out of the board once they solve the puzzle. The chess board must be durable so that it can be used for multiple years and easy to set up so that people setting up the escape room can efficiently reset the room.
