Project Description 

This project’s goal is the restoration of banks of Pima Wash (ephemeral stream) for structural and environmental protection and doing so in a manner that will be sustainable for decades. The wash, located in Phoenix Arizona needs teams to design ways to rehabilitate the area and ensure wildlife are safe. The team will investigate options to limit erosion and design systems to enhance the beauty of the wash​

The team is investigation opportunities to improve washes throughout Arizona to reduce erosion potential. The current project is working with a partner in South Tempe/Ahwatukee, however, the partner has hired an engineering firm to fix the wash. The team will be working with similar communities to identify possible improvements to washes and how to mitigate risks as climate change begins to impact regions that are less prepared for large quantities of rain.
