Campus Maps is working with the ASU Product Team (Product Team) to create a better user experience for students and faculty using the ASU Mobile App, specifically the ASU Campus Map. Currently, we are using a survey to collect data on how users interact with the map – what they like, what they don’t like, what works, and what doesn’t. The Product Team is aware there are weaknesses and pain points in the existing design of the map; compared to other popular mapping systems (i.e., Google Maps, Apple Maps). The current map is not optimized to meet student needs. We believe the user interface can be updated to meet accessibility guidelines and become more user-friendly. Additionally, the ASU Product Team has access to campus-specific information, such as classroom numbers and walk only zones, that would create an innovative map uniquely designed for ASU navigation.
