Project description

Coastal fishing communities in Indonesia often collect plastic scraps when water conditions are not favorable to sell as an alternative source of income. The main problem is that it takes too long to dry the litter with the currently used methods to generate significant profit. The litter consists of a variety of biomaterials and plastics, of which the plastics are most valuable. The goal of this project is to increase the revenue that coastal fishermen earn from collecting marine litter by increasing the efficiency of the drying process to a profitable level. To do this, a solution that dries marine litter efficiently must be developed.
