Project description
Lakin Prep Academy is a new Title I, dual-language, and International Baccalaureate elementary school located in Avondale, Arizona. For the 2024-2025 school year, we are welcoming a new CASA program to support two new classrooms of students with diverse abilities.
Students on the project will work with teachers to develop sensory toys for children with autism. The toys could range from pressure roller devices to indoor swings, etc. Students will interview teachers to define the problem which aligns with the students motivation for helping the students.
