Lakin Prep Academy is the newest school in the Littleton Elementary School District, established in 2023 and located in Avondale, Phoenix. The school currently serves approximately 400 students, and enrollment is projected to increase by 15-20% over the next few years due to population growth in that area.
Lakin Prep Academy hosts the C3ASA program—a specialized initiative supporting students who rely on non-verbal or limited verbal communication. As of now, 13 students are enrolled in the C3ASA program, with expectations for that number to grow over time.
According to the school’s dean, Elliot Wasbotten, the program urgently needs additional sensory toys and equipment to better meet the students’ needs. However, both school led and independent research shows that this equipment is very expensive. To address this, we are developing cost effective sensory toys that can support student development while making the program more financially sustainable.
