Project description
The Mesa Historical Museum (MHM) is seeking to install an interactive touch screen in the museum entryway to help convey the famous faces and places of early Mesa. It will feature stories of some of the early pioneers including Daniel Webster Jones, Charles Crismon, the Pomeroy family, the Rogers family, to name a few. The MHM resource library is filled with volumes of books on early founding families which offers stories about life in Arizona in the late 1800’s and early 1900s. The stories are laced with humor along with everyday struggles of adjusting to this brand new way of life. Another area of the interactive exhibit will be the famous places in Mesa including the Sirrine House, Buckhorn Baths, the Mezona. The exhibit will have photos, videos and oral histories as part of its content. Interactive exhibits provide a hands-on and immersive experience that actively involves visitors in the learning process. They stimulate curiosity, encourage exploration, and foster a deeper understanding of the subject matter.
