Project description

The Steele Park Animal Ramp team is designing a floating lily pad buoy to help ducks safely exit the Indian Steele Park Pond, where steep concrete banks make it difficult for them to climb out. The buoy is made from durable, eco-friendly High-Density Polyethylene (HDP), chosen for its ability to withstand UV exposure, heat, and varying weather conditions. It’s designed to support multiple ducks at once while blending into the pond without disrupting the ecosystem. The installation is quick, taking less than 10 minutes, and the design requires minimal maintenance. Our goal is to create a practical, sustainable solution that improves wildlife safety while remaining simple and efficient for long-term use.
