Project Description

The objective of this project is to develop a prototype rover, i.e. a functional and autonomous robot based on a hard real-time system and equipped with multiple sensors. The robot base will have to be able to move efficiently and avoid obstacles. This base will accommodate different modules. As a starting point, two modules are imagined:  

1) A visual module, doing pattern recognition and tracking to help the control base navigate the field recognize life forms in its environment 

 2) A weather station that will send data such as temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure regularly to a server.  

The robot will be equipped with a mobile antenna allowing the rover to receive simple instructions as well as send telemetry and images to remote operators. The aspect of energy consumption will be a big issue in this project, the rover will have to have a low consumption and maximum autonomy.
