Project Description

Lappadata village, located in the district of Sinjai Tengah within the regency of Sinjai, South Sulawesi, is a cool, mountainous region with a high-altitude geographic location. The area experiences significant rainfall and consistently high humidity, which creates challenges for local cattle farmers. Due to the humid conditions, livestock barns often retain excess moisture, causing feed spoilage and leading to digestive issues in cattle, such as bloating and diarrhea. Additionally, most barns in the area are not enclosed, leaving both the livestock and their feed exposed to environmental elements. The goal of the Cattle Corral Dryer project is to collaborate with Indonesian students and develop an affordable solution utilizing recyclable materials that will aid the farmers and their cattle in mitigating negative effects that arise due to the climate.
