Project Description

The IV Fluid Waste Management Project addresses the critical shortage of manpower and resources in Indonesian hospitals for handling intravenous (IV) waste, particularly the plastic IV bags. Originally focused on recycling the fluid content of IV bags, the project has since shifted its scope to prioritize the recycling and repurposing of the plastic materials themselves. The initiative aims to develop an automated device that separates and processes the plastic components efficiently, promoting sustainability and reducing environmental impact. A complementary mobile interface will allow users to manage and monitor the process remotely, enhancing overall waste management practices and contributing to cleaner, more resource-efficient healthcare settings.
