Project Description
In response to the post-COVID 19 loneliness epidemic declared by 2023 U.S. Surgeon General, BrightBridge is a trauma-informed, mobile-friendly Progressive Web App (PWA) that helps teens and young adults build healthy relationship skills and prevent domestic and sexual violence. Many youth today struggle with emotional regulation, boundary-setting, self-acceptance/self-compassion, forgiveness, and communication- soft skills that aren’t taught in classrooms but are essential for safety and connection.
BrightBridge will offer interactive tools like calming check-ins, conflict repair scripts, safety-planning guidance, and short lessons on topics like consent, bystander intervention, and self-compassion. One feature will also guide youth on how to leave harmful relationships safely.
This multi-semester project will result in a fully functional digital intervention that our stakeholder, Peer Solutions, can embed on their website and integrate into trauma-informed workshops.
