Project Description

Many families in our community face limited access to fresh, healthy food due to high costs, lack of nearby grocery stores, and inconsistent transportation. This often results in diets dependent on processed, low-nutrition foods, contributing to long-term health disparities. Schools and community organizations want to engage youth in hands-on gardening and nutrition, but lack the infrastructure, resources, and expertise to do so. Project Roots seeks to bridge this gap by introducing sustainable solutions such as tower gardens, produce rescue, and food education programs. These efforts not only increase access to fresh produce but also empower families and youth with the skills to grow their own food and build healthier communities.
