Project Description:
BIT Habitat promotes urban innovation to respond to the social, economic, technological, and environmental challenges facing Barcelona. The goal is to help the city become healthier, more sustainable, competitive, and equitable, while enhancing the quality of life for its residents. Aging in place can be defined as one’s ability to live in their own home and community safely, independently, and comfortably, regardless of age, income, or ability level. The goal of this project is to develop new technologies that enhance the well-being of elderly people, adapt homes to the changing needs resulting from this demographic shift, and create more people-friendly neighborhoods.
