Project Description:
e-NABLE is a global nonprofit organization that provides 3D-printed prosthetic hands to individuals in need, offering an affordable and accessible alternative to traditional prosthetics. The main challenge is the current CAD file needs to be adjusted based on manual measurements of the users hand and arm. The CAD designer then uses these measurements to adjust the CAD file. The project proposes using low-cost technology (iPhone LIDAR) to be able to scan the users hand/arm to capture these measurements and the automatically update the CAD file to allow the user to have the prosthetic 3D printed.
