Meeting Time:
Wednesday 4:30-5:45pm
Project Description:
Routine often goes unnoticed between doctor visits or across caregiver shifts. By the time someone notices, the change has usually been happening for a while.
The device tracks and notifies caregivers when it detects something concerning. the community partner is Dr. Ayca Tuzmen, Associate Teaching Professor in Academic and Student Affairs at the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering.
AlzTrack is Stage 1 this semester; as of Fall 2026, the project is focusing on understanding the problem and defining requirements rather than building a final product. Open questions are plan to resolve with the community partner including where the device should be worn, whether it is intended for individual families or for institutions like hospitals and care facilities, whether it needs its own screen or only reports data elsewhere, and how the system should handle the privacy risks that come with continuously collecting health data.
