Meeting Time:

Wednesday 7:00-8:15pm

Project Description:

Partner with the Indigenous farming community near Machu Picchu to restore and protect the local watershed and farmland while addressing landslide risk, improving sustainable irrigation, and creating opportunities for community-driven economic development. The project will integrate environmental restoration with ecotourism, agrotourism, and cultural tourism by developing visitor infrastructure such as kiosks and trails that showcase traditional farming practices, the natural landscape, and ongoing ecological restoration efforts. The project will also include a school greenhouse initiative, providing reliable water access to support the irrigation of native plants while engaging students in sustainable agriculture and environmental stewardship. Together, these efforts will create a model in which sustainable land management, cultural preservation, education, and tourism reinforce one another and contribute to long-term community resilience.
