Project description
In the unfortunate event of wildfires, there is an urgent need for a quicker and more effective fire protection system that needs to be put in place to help protect at-risk communities. Our community partner tasked us to design and implement an autonomous drone that will be able to aid firefighters and other emergency agencies during these times of crisis. These drones will autonomously survey areas of at-risk land to provide early detection of wildfires, helping to prevent them from escalating into uncontrollable infernos. Upon detection of a wildfire, a secondary drone will deploy fire retardant to key problem areas, assisting firefighters in managing the blaze effectively.
