Let’s Go Compost is a non-profit dedicated to providing education on composting and sustainability to K-12 students. However, the current compost bins they are providing are made from first use plastics which is not sustainable, these bins also begin to degrade within 3-5 years of their lifespan. The EPICS Let’s Go Compost team will attempt to design a more durable and sustainable compost bin that reduces the carbon footprint as well as production costs. This will effectively allow schools to afford compost bins that showcase natural composting for years to come. This will be done by reducing the use of first-use plastics and store-bought composting bins.
