Project Description:
We are looking for a solution to a pressing problem in Maasai Mara where humans and wildlife coexist. Because of land encroachment and demarcation, what was formally wildlife corridors and habitat is now an area of competition for resources. Families growing crops for sustenance and also keeping their sheep, cows and goats in the same land face devastating losses from the wildlife who share their environment.Free ranging wildlife come in contact with humans and the elephants and human lives are at risk. The device we have designed (hardware and software) is an early warning detection system to mitigate conflict and preserve wildlife.
